Small one or two-teacher schools where there are none.
In many villages the nearest school is hours away, so children — especially girls — simply never learn to read. We build small one or two-teacher schools right in the village, pay the teacher, and provide books and uniforms. Lessons that began on a rope-bed under a tree now happen in a cool, painted classroom.
Before the school was built — children learning in the open air, under a tree in all weathers. Nowhere to sit except the floor, on bricks or a bed.
After — Alhamdulillah, the children now have a proper school: desks and chairs, a whiteboard, proper toilets, a water pump, a covered veranda to keep out the 52°C sun, and an enclosed boundary wall for safety.
